GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY RELATIONS

PIA of Tennessee speaks on behalf of its members at both the state and national legislative levels. PIA member and 2007-08 Vice President Leighton Bush lobbies for PIA of Tennessee at the state level. He is directly aware of and current with legislative issues that affect your livelihood.

When Tennessee’s General Assembly is in session, PIA tracks proposed legislation and keeps members informed of legislative activity through the PIA Pipeline and legislative alerts that call members to immediate action. PIA will find and research current statutes for members upon request.

Members also can follow proposed legislation, gain access to the Tennessee Code, and even find their legislative district by clicking here and following the appropriate links.

To learn about current events at the state level, click here to go to the web site of the Insurance Division of the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance.

PIA of Tennessee follows national legislative activity via reports from PIA National and through annual visits to Tennessee’s congressional delegation during the Federal Legislative Conference. You can reach your Congressman and Senators by going to http://www.firstgov.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml.

PIA urges each member to support our two political action committees – TINSPAC supports state legislative candidates, and PIAPAC supports federal congressional candidates.
