Advocating for members before state legislators, government officials and Congress is one of the most important benefits provided to members. PIA tracks legislation to keep members informed of legislative activity that affects your agency and alerts members when grassroots involvement is needed. PIA is on the Hill meeting with legislators to protect and advocate for your interests. We sponsor Day-on-the-Hill annually, inviting members to meet face-to-face with legislators. We follow national legislative activity via reports from PIA National and travel to Washington for National’s annual Federal Legislative Summit. In addition, members are urged to contribute to our two political action committees – TINSPAC supports state legislative candidates and PIAPAC supports congressional candidates.

The PIA branding program – Local Agents Serving Main Street America – gives PIA members throughout the country a growing collection of advertising and marketing support materials at no charge. Professional print and radio advertisements in English and in Spanish are available, as well as the PIA logo utilizing the Local Agents Serving Main Street America tag.
